New occupational health and safety ISO published today

The new BS ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems was published today (12th March 2018).  The ‘world’s first global occupational health and safety management system standard’ differs significantly from the current occupational health and safety management standard OHSAS 18001:2007.

OHSAS 18001 is being withdrawn on publication of ISO 45001 so companies that are currently certified to OHSAS 18001 will have a three year period to upgrade to ISO 45001 (by 11th March 2021).
