Further expansion of senior team

Wiser Environment continues to improve our senior team with the promotion of environmental and waste specialist Graeme Outridge.

Graeme joined the Wiser team as a consultant three years ago. With 15 years’ experience in the waste management industry as a Chartered Waste Manager, Graeme brought with him a practical working knowledge of anaerobic digestion and composting, integrated management systems and auditing, air dispersion modelling and sustainability project assessments to our multi-skilled team.

Wiser Enviornment Senior Consultant Graeme Outridge is environmental and waste specialist

During his time at Wiser Environment, Graeme has driven forward waste recovery and waste classification opportunities. He has had particular success identifying recovery versus disposal options and enabling the use of soils and other inert materials to provide ecological enhancement at landfills, quarries and other sites. One such success story was the recent bespoke environmental permit obtained for a site in Cambridgeshire.

Charles Thomas, Consultancy Director, Wiser Environment says: “We are really pleased to promote Graeme to Senior Consultant in recognition of both his hard work and his results. Graeme’s knowledge and experience, coupled with his calm but resolute approach, have proved of great value to our clients and we look forward to him having greater success in the future.”

The EA has updated its odour management plan guidance

The EA has updated its odour management plan guidance. Overall, the guidance outlines how operators must control and monitor emissions from their activities that may cause pollution.

Changes include clarifications regarding when the EA will want an odour management plan. They may request one during pre-application, determination, variation or at any point during the lifetime of your permit.

Also, Materials recycling and handle odorous inputs or reject streams and Intensive Farming have been added to the list of Activities that require an odour management plan.
